Hello, and thank you for visiting my Florida AIDS Walk & Music Festival webpage! I’ve decided to take an active part in the battle against AIDS, and on Saturday, March 21, I will participate in a 5K fundraising walk along Fort Lauderdale Beach.
While HIV and AIDS have fallen out of the spotlight in recent years, the epidemic is far from over. An estimated 1.1 million people in the US are living with HIV, and 15% of them don’t know it.
Florida AIDS Walk works to bring attention to this pressing issue, educate and inspire our community to work together, and end the epidemic once and for all.
In Broward County, The Poverello Center serves nearly 3,000 people with HIV by providing them with groceries for a healthy meal plan. We provide a gym full of exercise equipment and collaborate with volunteer providers of Massage, Reiki, Chiropractic and Acupuncture to help our program participants. Our Be Well Programs help participants squeeze the most out of life and live better and healthier days.
We walk for over 100,000 people living with HIV in Florida. We walk to remember those who no longer can. We walk to remind you that you’re not alone. We walk for a nation. We walk for change.
Please support me with a donation. Your gift makes a direct impact on my goal to save lives right here in Florida from the devastation of HIV/AIDS. Together, we are making a difference!
