Hello, and thank you for visiting my Florida AIDS Walk & Music Festival webpage! I’ve decided to take an active part in the battle against AIDS, and on Saturday, March 21, I will participate in a 5K fundraising walk along Fort Lauderdale Beach.
I am so proud to be walking with the organization I work for, SunServe. Here in the youth department, we serve youth between the ages of 3-22 and provide free therapy, Life Coaching/Case Management, youth groups, and parent support groups. The mission of our organization, and the fight against HIV/AIDS are both things I strongly believe in and support. I walk for those who we have lost, I walk for those who are unable, I walk for those who are afraid, I walk to raise awareness for testing because testing, knowing your status, and getting into and remaining in treatment are the only ways we will end this epidemic!
While HIV and AIDS have fallen out of the spotlight in recent years, the epidemic is far from over. An estimated 1.1 million people in the US are living with HIV, and 15% of them don’t know it.
Florida AIDS Walk works to bring attention to this pressing issue, educate and inspire our community to work together, and end the epidemic once and for all.
We walk for over 100,000 people living with HIV in Florida. We walk to remember those who no longer can. We walk to remind you that you’re not alone. We walk for a nation. We walk for change.
Please support me with a donation. Your gift makes a direct impact on my goal to save lives right here in Florida from the devastation of HIV/AIDS. Together, we are making a difference!
