Hello, and thank you for visiting my Florida AIDS Walk & Music Festival webpage! I’ve decided to take an active part in the battle against HIV/AIDS, and on Saturday, March 21, I will participate in a 5K fundraising walk along Fort Lauderdale Beach.
The HIV/AIDS epidemic is far from over. An estimated 1.1 million people in the US are living with HIV, and 15% of them don’t even know it. Of the nation's 48 counties with the highest incidences of HIV transmission, Florida is home to seven--with Broward and Dade leading the list!
Florida AIDS Walk works to bring attention to this pressing issue, to educate and inspire our community to work together to end the epidemic once and for all. Through it, donations that support the important work of Equality Florida--including HIV destigmatization through education, advocacy and policy change, will be DOUBLED!
I'll walk for over 100,000 people living with HIV in Florida. I'll walk to remember those who no longer can. I'll walk so those to come can live lives free from stigma and HIV/AIDS--and I'll walk to raise funds to help bring that about.
Please support me with a donation, and/or join my team. Your decision will make a direct impact on my goal to save lives right here in Florida from the devastation of HIV/AIDS. Together, we CAN make a difference! Contact me if you'd like to know more. Row@equalityflorida.org
