Afro Pride's mission focuses on the solidarity, empowerment, and overall mental and social wellness of the African American & Afrocentric LGBTQ+ communities of the African Diaspora including those who love and support them in South Florida.  

An estimated 1.1 million people in the US are living with HIV, and 15% of them don’t even know it. More black individuals are living with HIV in Florida than any other racial or ethnic group. According to recent studies, Blacks make up only 15 percent of Florida’s population, yet they comprise more than 42 percent of Florida’s HIV cases.  

Florida AIDS Walk works to bring attention to this pressing issue, educate and inspire our community to work together, and end the epidemic once and for all. Afro Pride aims to benefit from Florida AIDS Walk by enabling the organization to financially execute its mission to implement culturally informed HIV/AIDS initiatives that include a coordinated approach between mental illness, substance abuse, HIV care providers, other agencies, and stakeholders that are well-positioned to address the social determinants of health to assist with decreasing and ending rates of HIV infection in the Black & Brown LGBTQ+ population an those who love & support them with or without health insurance, or low to no income in South Florida.  

Proceeds raised by Afro Pride for the Florida AIDS Walk & Music Festival will go directly to Afro Pride and will be matched 100%.  Your contribution will assist Afro Pride to provide lifesaving medication and services to people in need.
