Hello, and welcome to my Florida AIDS Walk & Music Festival webpage!
My name is Tom Lander, and I am the President of the Board for Safe Schools—and the fearless leader of our Florida AIDS Walk team. I’ve been advocating for LGBTQ+ youth and educators for many years, and Safe Schools has given me the platform to create real change in South Florida and beyond.
This year, I’m joining the 5K fundraising walk to raise funds for local HIV/AIDS service organizations, including Safe Schools. While HIV and AIDS may have slipped from the headlines, the epidemic is far from over. An estimated 1.1 million people in the U.S. are living with HIV, and 15% of them don’t even know it. With your help, we can make a difference in the fight against this ongoing crisis.
My personal goal is to raise $1,000, and our Board of Directors Team is aiming for $15,000. Every dollar donated here is matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling your impact and directly supporting our mission to bring accurate, inclusive sexual health education to youth and essential HIV/AIDS resources to one of the most affected populations in South Florida.
At Safe Schools, we champion the rights of LGBTQ+ youth, educators, and parents by creating safe environments through advocacy, education, and support. We partner with public schools to provide life-saving trainings—ensuring every student has the freedom to be their authentic self. We’re thrilled that the AIDS Healthcare Foundation and the Florida AIDS Walk have chosen us as a beneficiary again this year. It’s our third year participating, and we’re proud to stand at the forefront of these efforts.
Together, we can help meet not just our goals, but the overall $400,000 target—benefiting our youth, our educators, and our modern families here in Florida and across the nation. Thank you for visiting my page and for any contribution you can make. Whether you’re donating, walking, or spreading the word, you’re helping us build a healthier future for all.
Together, we are making a difference.
