Alexander Hamilton once said, “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.” Those who know me know that I have always championed the underdog, marginalized communities, and my clients. I stand for those who can not stand or those who don't dare to stand for themselves. So it should come as no surprise that I will be returning this year to walk in the AIDS WALK 2022.
I am asking you to please help me help my clients. SunServe continues to meet existing and new challenges in the LGBTQ+ community, and we need your help more than ever. Due to economic hardships brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, philanthropic giving has decreased. There has also been a shrinking of grant funding available to community-based organizations. While this is occurring, the demand for mental healthcare and social services increases exponentially, especially for often overlooked or marginalized communities. Our clients continue to struggle with Joblessness, Limited Access to Resources, Isolation, Mental Health, Depression, Anxiety, etc.
Thanks to the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) and the Florida AIDS Walk, now is the best time to provide a life-changing donation. Every dollar will be matched 100% by AHF. For example, a $100 gift becomes $200! These funds go directly into programs we designed to help the most vulnerable people in our community.

Thank you so much for your continued support and generosity. We’d also like to take a moment to thank our dedicated team of mental health counselors, social service professionals, and support staff for making the needs of clients our number one priority. Remember, at SunServe, the slogan “We Help People” would only be words without the everyday champions that bring our programs to life.
Thank you for visiting my Florida AIDS Walk & Music Festival webpage! And YES, I will be walking again this year on Saturday, March 19. I am walking because I believe in this cause!!! I believe in SunServe, and I believe in my clients. I am also walking because of the many near and dear to me that I have lost to HIV. I am walking for my loved ones who are living today with HIV. I am walking because this is still an epidemic, and this is still a problem, and we are still fighting!!!
HIV/AIDS has fallen out of the spotlight in recent years (especially with COVID-19); however, the epidemic is far from over. An estimated 1.1 million people in the US live with HIV, and 15% of them don’t know it. Florida AIDS Walk works to bring attention to this pressing issue, educate and inspire our community to work together, and end the epidemic once and for all. We walk for over 100,000 people living with HIV in Florida. We walk to remember those who no longer can. We walk to remind you that you’re not alone. We walk for a nation. We walk for a change.
Thank you for supporting me with a donation. Your gift directly impacts my goal to save lives right here in Florida from the devastation of HIV/AIDS. Together, we are making a difference!
