Hello, and thank you for visiting my Florida AIDS Walk & Music Festival webpage!
But you see, I abhor fundraising! I am the type that rarely asks for help, and have a hard time asking friends, colleagues and family to support a cause I care about. But, in this instance, I have to make an exception. I really do care about the Pride Center at Equality Park, and I absolutely love Wilton Manors and the towns and cities that surround it, and the citizens that inhabit it. So, I am stepping outside my comfort zone!
On Saturday, March 9 - I will be participating in a 5K fundraising walk to help raise funds for local HIV and AIDS service organizations. But I need your help. Over the years, HIV has fallen out of the spotlight, yet the epidemic is far from over. I definitely get it that we are still recovering from a different pandemic, and COVID-19 certainly has our attention! And yet, over 1 million people in the US are living with HIV, and nearly 15% of them do not even know it!
So, my ask is simple: even a nominal $5, $10 or $20 donation makes a difference you cannot imagine. And if you can give even more to help me reach my $500 goal, even better! The best part is that every dollar you give comes back to The Pride Center to put back into efforts to prevent HIV and to support those persons living with HIV.
And hey, I know that many folks are suffering financially - these are indeed difficult times for so many. So if you can't give, don't feel bad. I’ve been there. But if you can’t donate, how about just passing this on to someone who might be able to support our work.
No matter what, always be good to yourself. Keep yourself safe. And remember, we are all in this together, and together we can make a difference!
Most respectfully,
Danny
