Hola friends!
I will be participating in a 5K fundraising walk to help raise funds for local HIV and AIDS service organizations in Florida, which provide critical services in our communities.
Sadly, we can no longer count on the support of institutions like the CDC and the federal government to prevent and eradicate HIV and AIDS. It is now up to you and me to support these organizations.
Vital resources and data are gone from the CDC's website including:
- HIV Testing page- www.cdc.gov/hiv/testing/index.html
- Fast Facts: HIV and Transgender People- www.cdc.gov/hiv/data-research/facts-stats/transgender-people.html
- Health Disparities Among LGBTQ Youth- www.cdc.gov/healthy-youth/lgbtq-youth/health-disparities-among-lgbtq-youth.html
Join me in actively continuing the fight against HIV and AIDS. While HIV and AIDS have fallen out of the spotlight in recent years, the epidemic is far from over. An estimated 1.1 million people in the US are living with HIV, and 15% of them don’t know it.
Please help me make a difference and donate to my walk! Your gift makes a direct impact on my goal to save lives from HIV/AIDS. Florida AIDS Walk works to bring attention to this pressing issue, educate and inspire our community to work together, and end the epidemic once and for all.
Together, we are making a difference!
