Current Event Update
We cannot thank you enough for your enthusiasm and support for the 15th annual Florida AIDS Walk & Music Festival that was scheduled to take place on March 21st, 2020 on Fort Lauderdale Beach. After careful consideration, we have decided to postpone the event. Due to the current state of emergency placed on Broward County, Florida and the rising coronavirus (COVID-19) numbers, we want to ensure that we are keeping your safety as our top priority.
AHF wants to ensure that everyone has accurate information to ensure the safety and health of you, your family and friends, and that both residents and visitors remain alert and continue to take proper preventative actions. We encourage you to visit the following links for tips on staying healthy and actions to take if someone you know has been exposed to the virus:
Why We Walk
While HIV and AIDS have fallen out of the spotlight in recent years, the epidemic is far from over. An estimated 1.1 million people in the US are living with HIV, and 15% of them don’t know it.
Florida AIDS Walk works to bring attention to this pressing issue, educate and inspire our community to work together, and end the epidemic once and for all.
We walk for the more than 100,000 people living with HIV in Florida. We walk to remember those who no longer can. We walk to remind you that you’re not alone. We walk for a nation. We walk for change.
